The animals have adapted to life without preditors, as a result they show little fear or interest in a group of people standing close by, and 2. Because there is so much of it, again not only are their no preditors, but the high rainfall on Kangaroo Island provides ample food and water to support a large population, and foxes and rabbits, which live on the main land and kill and compete for food, have not been introduced to Kangaroo Island. The tammar Walabie is abundant on KI, on the mainland it has been extinct for over 90 years, killed by foxes.
